Cinda Stewart

Cinda A. Stewart died Tuesday, March 27, in South Fulton Medical Center in East Point, Ga., near Atlanta. She was 82.

Cinda was born Dec. 5, 1919 in Blockton, Ala. Her life journey led her to Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and New York City. She resided in Yellow Springs from 1960–1975 before moving to Springfield, where she lived until 2007 before moving to Atlanta.

Cinda retired from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base as a computer operator in 1982. She then took great joy in being a homemaker and spending time with family and friends. She was a longtime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Coreen Hill; her husband of 44 years, Oscar Stewart; and her sister, Cora Lee Bowman. She is survived by her son, Kevin D. Jackson Sr. of Springfield and her daughter, Bettie Stewart Phelps of Altanta, Ga.; and by grandchildren Dennis Bronston, Demica Jackson Williams, Tahira Jackson, Kevin D. Jackson Jr. (aka Bomani Moyenda), William Stewart and Alicia Stewart. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, beloved nephews Gary and Barry Thompson and a host of dear friends. Services were held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Northridge, Ohio, with internment at the Rose Hill Burial Park.
