SPORTS SUNDAY — Tourney time

The Bulldogs begin postseason play this week and several YSHS teams look to contend for a spot at the state tournament.

 

The YSHS varsity volleyball team (15–4) finished the season in second place in the Metro Buckeye Conference and were awarded a 12th seed (out of 27 teams), the highest seed in YSHS volleyball history. They take on #9 Mississinawa Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 15 at Tipp City High School.

 

The boys varsity soccer team, which last year exited the tournament in the district finals, takes on the winner of Madison and Twin Valley South on at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18 at home. The team received a bye in the first round after finishing the regular season 11–3–1 and winning the MBC.

 

In other posteason action, the girls varsity soccer team plays at Southeastern High School at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17 and the YSHS cross country squad runs at Miami Valley Career Technical on Saturday, Oct. 20. All tournament tickets are $6.
