Bach Society performance features locals

Yellow Springs residents William Spohn and Fred Bartenstein will sing with The Bach Society of Dayton when it presents its 10th anniversary holiday concert, “Sweet Sounds of the Holidays,” on Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the Kettering Adventist Church. The concert will feature seasonal favorites of Christmas and Hanukkah. The Bach Society of Dayton chorus, under the direction of John Neely, will be joined by the Kettering Children’s Choir Chorale, directed by Bruce Swank, and Kettering Advent Ringers, directed by joan Ulloth Dorgan R. Alan Kimbrough is the accompanist for the Bach Society.
“Our musical selections will range from old favorites to the premiere of a new work by esteemed choral composer Howard Helvey, together with several of his arrangements of traditional carols, said Neely.
