Bundle up! Cold weather advisory for today

The National Weather Service states that “well below normal temperature readings are expected Friday. Although winds will not be particularly strong, wind chills can be dangerously low. People must take precautions to reduce exposure to frostbite.”

The day promises to be partly sunny, but not much warmer, with a high near 14. The slight westerly breeze can produce a biting wind chill as low as -1. Snow will likely start falling tonight, but temperatures will dip down to around 9, and wind chill values will reach a biting low of -5.

If you feel that you or someone you know may be in danger from the severe weather, contact the Yellow Springs Police Department at 767-7206, or, in case of an emergency, at 911.
