Greene County protests loan interest hike

Moveon.org will sponsor a protest of the impending July 1 doubling of subsidized Stafford loan interest rates on Thursday, June 27, at 1 p.m. in front of the Greene County Democratic Party headquarters at 10 South Detroit Street in Xenia. Students, parents, and anyone concerned with the proposed increase are urged to come out and make their voice heard. Though the Dem headquarters will be supplying cold drinks and restroom access, GCDP Chairman Doris Adams stressed that people of any political ideology should feel welcome at the protest.
“We want to show [District 10 Representative] Mike Turner that Greene County is a force to be reckoned with,” she said.
