New coaches for basketball

Both the boys and girls varsity basketball teams at YSHS will have new coaches next season.
Steve Grasso was named the boys head coach. Grasso was an assistant basketball coach for six years at Division l Fairmont High School in Kettering, where he is also a teacher. Grasso takes the place of Brad Newsome, who was the head coach for 13 years and left this year as the winningest boys basketball coach in YSHS school history. Read more about Newsome here.
Jack Hatert, the former girls assistant coach, replaces Tim Barga as the head coach of the girls team. Barga coached the girls team for two years. He achieved his 500th coaching victory this season and led the team to its first sectional title since 1987. Hatert is a math and science teacher at McKinney Middle School in Yellow Springs.
