Cross country competes at Buck Creek

The Yellow Springs High School boys and girls cross-country teams competed at Saturday’s Buck Creek Invitational at Buck Creek State Park in Springfield. Crowds lined the course on a sunny fall day in what was a competitive race.

As a team, the boys finished in 13th place out of 18 teams. Leading the charge was freshman Cameron Haught, who came in 53rd place with a finish of 18:44. One second later was junior Connor Gravley-Novello, in 56th place, in the packed field of 203 runners.

Levi Brown, a freshman, ran a lifetime best of 19:57 over the 5 kilometers. He came in 86th place. Senior Carter Collins also ran a lifetime best. He finished in 106th place in 20:29. Josh Seitz was in 177th in 20:55.

In the girls race, YSHS sophomore Charlotte Walkey ran to 25th place, out of a total of 132 runners, in 21:49. YSHS runners Tabea Wegers and Emma Romohr also finished for the Lady Bulldogs.
