As part of its 20th anniversary season, Yellow Springs Kids Playhouse will host its second annual Mardi Gras Gala “FUNdraiser” at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, at the Glen Helen Building. The event, which is also the and kick-off party for YSKP’s new show “Superhuman Happiness,” features live music, dancing, cajun and creole food, mask wearing, bead throwing and the Mardi Gras Mambo.
Performing are YSKP Zydeco Stompers featuring Mark Laurens, Devil’s Backbone, DJ Clean Gene, Sassabrass, the Booth Family Drummers and the YSKP Players.
“As the YSKP enters its 20th year, we are ever grateful to the people of Yellow Springs for two decades of support as audiences, actors, volunteers and patrons,” according to YSKP Founder and Artistic Director John Fleming in a press release.
“Superhuman Happiness,” an adaptation of Ovid’s Metamorphosis, will be performed at the Antioch Amphitheater from July 10–20.
