Villagers asked to conserve water
- Published: April 17, 2014
The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, or EPA, has asked that Yellow Springs residents voluntarily reduce their water usage for an unspecified time. Doing so will reduce the demands on the Village water treatment plant, where repairs are being made to filter #3. That filter broke last Friday during routine maintenance, and villagers in some parts of town experienced brown water.
The duration of the request isn’t known at this time, but villagers will be notified when the repairs are completed. Check ysnews.com for updates. According to the EPA, Village water is safe to drink and is being tested continually.
