Villagers will have the opportunity to meet with finalists for the Village manager position at a public forum on Thursday, May 21, at 6:30 p.m. at the Bryan Center gym. Childcare will be provided at the event, which includes an informal reception following the forum.

This Friday and Saturday, May 2 and 3, five finalists — from Colorado, Florida and Ohio — out of 61 applicants are visiting Yellow Springs for interviews with Village Council and a citizens’ search committee, according to Council member Brian Housh, who is overseeing the search process. Council expects to narrow the five down to three finalists, who will be announced at Council’s May 5 meeting.

The citizens’ committee is composed of Sue Abendroth, Christine Monroe-Beard, Hannah DeLamatre, Corey Johnson, Kate Hamilton, Beth Holyoke, Ryan Peirson and Bettina Solas Stolsenberg.

Villagers are invited to submit questions for the candidates in boxes that will be placed at Tom’s Market, the Yellow Springs Libray and Senior Center. Questions will then be chosen for the forum, and villagers may ask further questions at an informal reception following the forum.
