Grand opening for Wellness Center

After several years of anticipation, the Antioch College Wellness Center officially opens this Saturday, Sept. 6 from noon to 4 p.m. The event is open to both the college and the Yellow Springs community.
The grand opening includes a series of events, beginning with a welcome and ribbon-cutting by Antioch College President Mark Roosevelt at noon. Starting at 12:30 p.m., villagers can play pick-up basketball, volleyball, badminton, racquetball and ping-pong in the gym, or work out in the fitness center. A mobility, strength and balance presentation will also take place at 12:30, and children’s activities will be presented throughout the afternoon, including a Punch and Judy puppet show at 1 p.m.
Entertainment continues at 1:30 with live jazz from Yellow Springs High School students. From 1:30 to 3:30 swimmers can take a first dip in the new pool; zumba will be offered at 2 p.m. and yoga with Wellness Center Director Monica Hasek at 2:30.
All the events are free. Food from La Pampa Grill, The Shakery Juice Bar and Kinetic will also be available.
