Climate conference to rise again in Yellow Springs

On Thursday, Oct. 9, Community Solutions will present a “Climate Conversations” event, which will debrief the events at the People’s Climate March in New York and discuss next steps for local action.

The event will include highlights from the just-released documentary “Disruption,” stories and film clips from the Yellow Springs contingent to the Climate March and an update on the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change process from UD Professor Bob Brecha. The conversation begins at 7 p.m. at the Vernet Ecological Center (Glen Helen Building). Those attending are asked to join the Facebook event at http://www.facebook.com/events/1480762798839310/ .

Later this fall, Community Solutions will also host its sixth energy conference, “Climate Crisis Solutions: Curtailment and Community,” on Nov. 7–9 at the Vernet Ecological Center. The conference will feature keynote speakers Richard Heinberg, author of “The Party’s Over;” Mario Arrastía, author of “The Undefeatable God Sun;” and Jim Merkel, author of “Radical Simplicity.”
