Chili Cook-Off returns on Saturday

Looking to beat the cold weather with some warm food and hot competition? Look no further: McKinney Middle School will host its 21st annual Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, March 7, 5–8 p.m., in the YSHS/MMS cafeteria. First place and People’s Choice Award prizes will be given for the categories of student individual or team and adult individual; contest admission fees are $5 for student individual, $10 for student team and $15 for adult individual. Chili entry forms are available in the YSHS/MMS main office, Current Cuisine, Curves and the public library.
Those not cooking are invited to come out and enjoy chili, break, fruit salad, dessert and a beverage; cost is $5 for children 4–11, $10 for 12 and up and $25 per family; children 3 and under eat free.
The schedule for events is as follows:
4 p.m. — Chili makers set up
4:30 p.m. — Judging begins
5 p.m. — Doors open to the public
6:30 p.m. — Winners announced8 p.m. — Close
