Holiday Fest, a special day for shopping and family entertainment in Yellow Springs, takes place Saturday, Dec. 12, with a variety of events and experiences.
The Mills Lawn Gingerbread Festival, featuring a contest for gingerbread houses, kicks off at 11 a.m. The event also features cookie decorating for kids, hot cocoa and face painting.
Horse-drawn carriage rides will be provided downtown from noon to 3 p.m.
A screening of the Christmas classic film, “The Polar Express,” will take place at the Little Art Theatre at 11:30 a.m.
Rounding out the day, a holiday concert by Heartstrings and a cookie bake-off takes place at the Yellow Springs Arts Council gallery on Corry Street, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
