Basketball
Boys
The YSHS boys Bulldogs played a number of games over the past week-and-a -half, resulting in an additional three wins to their 10–3 (6–0 conference) record.

YSHS played Miami Valley on Jan. 4 and emerged victorious, with a final score of 68–58. Isaiah Taylor and Kaner Butler were responsible for 40 of the team’s points, scoring 22 and 18 respectively.

In London on Jan. 6, YSHS fought the hard fight and narrowly came through victorious, with a 57–53 win.

Most recently, YSHS boys battled against Newton Local on Jan. 8 and assured themselves victory for practically the entire game, as aside from the final quarter, they scored more points per quarter than their rivals. The final score was 53–41.

Girls
YSHS Lady Bulldogs have also played themselves into a frenzy since the beginning of the year, taking on no less than three opponents in one week.

YSHS traveled to De Graff on Jan. 4 and played against the Riverside Pirates, a match that ultimately resulted in the Bulldogs walking the plank. Despite Elizabeth Smith’s 20 points, YSHS sank 39–31.

A non-conference game against Stivers School for the Arts likewise resulted in a loss on Jan. 9, though only by a fairly narrow margin, likely thanks to Molly Hendrickson’s five blocks. The final score was 52–47.

On Jan. 11 YSHS Lady Bulldogs hosted Miami Valley in the thunderdome that is Yellow Springs High School. High scorers Elizabeth Smith and Julian Roberts netted 29 and 16 points, though their proficiency wasn’t enough to carry the team to victory, as YSHS lost 78–54. The Lady Bulldogs now have a record of 0–15, with a 0–7 home record.
