Gudgel honored at MLK program

Villagers of all ages, races and nationalities are invited to join the annual march and program honoring civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. this Monday, Jan. 18, the birthday of Dr. King.The march kicks off at Mills Lawn School at 10:30 a.m. and marchers will converge on the Central Chapel AME Church on High Street, where the program begins at 11 a.m.
The World House Choir will perform, local children will read winning essays on peace themes and this year’s Community Peacemaker award will be presented to former YSHS Principal and current Guidance Counselor John Gudgel. A soup lunch will follow the event.
