Buoyed by a dozen teammates garbed in spirit wear, Kaner Butler, Oluka Okia and Julie Roberts, the largest contingent of athletes to the state track meet in over nine years, put forth a solid effort at the recent completed state track and field meet held at the Jesse Owens Stadium on the campus of The Ohio State University.
Senior Oluka Okia finished in ninth place in the high jump with a leap of 6’3”, one place away from reaching the podium, while senior Kaner Butler and junior Julie Roberts both finished in 11th place in their respective hurdle races.
Reaching the state meet at the outset of the track season was the end goal for each of these athletes and they accomplished this remarkable feat. Congratulations for being among the best in the state of Ohio.
