Iris Shinkle Cornish

Iris Shinkle Cornish, formerly of Yellow Springs, passed away in her sleep at her residence in Venice, Fla., on Jan. 21, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorsey and Edna Rose; two brothers, Ernie and Dona Rose; her first husband of 20 years, Donald E. Shinkle; and her second husband of 44 years, Dr. George G. Cornish. She leaves behind a daughter, Iris (Dennis) Bone, of North Port, Fla.; a son, Ronald (Connie) Shinkle, of San Diego, Calif; step-sons George R. Cornish and David (Diane) Cornish, both of Venice, Fla.; grandson Shawn (Kimberly) Bone, of Jamestown, Ohio; granddaughter Leslie Shinkle, of Huntington Beach, Calif; step-granddaughter Lindsay Cornish, of Gainesville, Fla.; and three great-grandchildren in Ohio.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at Windsor of Venice Assisted Living, with burial at the Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota. Arrangements are being handled by Farley Funeral Home in Venice, Fla. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity or hospice.
