House of AUM ready to #PressforProgress

March 8 is International Women’s Day, a day of community action for women’s equality, started by the Suffragettes in 1911. The theme of this year’s IWD is #PressforProgress, an idea fueled by 2017’s wide exposure of sexual misconduct and discrimination in the workplace marked by the popular #MeToo and #TimesUp social movements, as well as pay inequality highlighted by the World Economic Forum’s report stating that pay equality is 200 years away at the current pace.
House of AUM is set to celebrate and reflect on the day and the “Rise of Feminine” with a circle gathering, co-facilitated by Melissa Herzog and Lynda Terry. Guided meditation, contemplative self-inquiry, chant and gentle movement will be held by the circle of participants at the donation-based event, where proceeds will go to the Feminist Health Fund. The event is scheduled for 6 to 7:30 p.m. on International Women’s Day, March 8, 2018.
