Dorothy G. Sneed
Dorothy G. Sneed, of Yellow Springs, transitioned from this life on Sunday, June 3, 2018, surrounded by loved ones at Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek, Ohio. She was 88.
Dorothy was born Feb. 6, 1930, to the late Nathaniel and Angeline Gay in North Middletown, Ky. Dorothy truly lived life to the fullest with friends and family, spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was truly a lovable and feisty lady.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Sneed Sr.; one son, Richard (Deacon) Sneed Jr.; four brothers, Frank Gay, John Gay, Nathaniel Gay and Charles Gay; one sister, Mary Ann Turner; and one granddaughter, Vicky Lynn Baxter.
Dorothy is survived by three children, William A. Gay (Janet), of Enon, Hattie Florence Baxter (Victor, Sr.), of Huber Heights, and Shonda Sneed, of Yellow Springs; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews, great-nieces and -nephews and great-great-nieces and -nephews. She was retired from Kings Table in Dayton, and was a member and deaconess at First Baptist Church of Yellow Springs. Services were held on Friday, June 8, 2018. Arrangements entrusted to Porter-Qualls-Freeman Funeral Home.
