Those of us who were fortunate enough to have known ‘Bud’ Marsh will miss his friendship, his humanity, his love of the land, and his gentle spirit.

Patricia “Pat” White of Yellow Springs passed on Jan. 9 at Friends Care Community, where she had been a resident for several months. She was 63.

Monna L. Phillips died Monday, Jan. 6. She was 63.

Dr. James Ritter Werner, of Dayton’s Five Oaks neighborhood and Yellow Springs, died on Sunday, Jan. 5, from complications due to chronic leukemia.

Yellow Springs native Ronald Charles Harris died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 8.

The Yellow Springs Senior Center is pleased to announce preparations for an elder literary journal, which will feature elders connected to Yellow Springs and Miami Township.

Byron Keys Dann achieved a peaceful passing on Friday, Jan. 3 at Hospice of Dayton. He would have been 96 on Feb. 18.

In December, the News, inspired by a suggestion from the Human Relation Commission’s Linda Rudowski, asked villagers to name local residents who had acted as peacemakers or had helped to create harmony in the community in the past year.
