Antioch University last week threatened to take legal action against individual Antioch College faculty members who are involved in Nonstop Antioch unless the faculty members agree not to teach in a program that includes ‘Antioch’ in its title.

The YSHS baseball squad picked up two wins in two tries last week. Other games were rained out. Against Jefferson on Tuesday, April 8, the Bulldogs piled up 27 runs on just 9 hits as the Jefferson pitchers walked or hit 21 batters.

Gwyneth B. Ishihara of Yellow Springs died Tuesday, April 8. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 27, in the First Presbyterian Church, Yellow Springs.

Betty Jean Bernat O’Connor R.N., B.S.N., died March 21, Good Friday evening. She was a graduate of St. Xavier School of Nursing and the University of Illinois, where she studied both nursing and theater, and worked as a nurse in pediatrics/critical care in Chicago and Los Angeles.

Forest K. Davis of Calais, Vt. died at his home after a short illness on Saturday, April 5. He was 90. Forest was born in Nashua, N.H., the son of Harold M. and Evangeline Foster Davis.

Village ends ’07 fiscal year with $1.5 million surplus
The Village of Yellow Springs ended its 2007 fiscal year with a general fund surplus of about $1.5 million, its largest surplus in recent years, according to Village Manager Eric Swansen at Council’s March 31 meeting.
