Local author signs books at Saturday’s Book Fair

Local author Scarlett Rains (a pen name) will sign her first two books at the village’s annual Book Fair, to take place this Saturday, Aug. 20, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the lawn at Mills Lawn School.
Admission to the fair is free, and anyone may set up a table to sell books. Seller setup begins at 7 a.m. More than 30 sellers from six states will take part, offering everything from comics, history and novels to fine collectors’ volumes.
At Saturday’s event Rains will sign the first two historical romances she’s written, Promises of the Heart and Seduction of a Bluestocking, both of which were released in July. Her third book, Betrayals of the Heart, will come out this fall. The three books are part of a series, “Sisters of the Heart,” and take place in 18th century England.
