An enthusiastic crowd of villagers took part in last year's Pride parade, which this year takes place downtown at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 28.

Yellow Springs Pride events this weekend

Yellow Springs Pride 2014 begins  on Friday, June 27, with a “Kickoff Tea,” at The Winds Cafe from 5 to 7 p.m. A series of Pride events takes place Saturday, starting with a family picnic at Mills Lawn School from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., followed by a sidewalk parade through downtown beginning at 1:30. That afternoon the Presbyterian Church will host more events from 2–6 p.m., including Ohio Brass and Electric, speakers and an interfaith prayer service. At 6 p.m. the documentary “Rubi Girls” will be shown at the Little Art Theatre, as a benefit to the theater, with the filmmaker present. And the Rubi Girls themselves will perform at Peach’s Grill at 10 p.m.

All events are open to the public.
