Holden to be new YS schools superintendent
The Yellow Springs School Board will approve Dr. Terri Holden as the Yellow Springs Schools new superintendent, the district announced in a press release on Monday, May 13.

YS school district treasurer put on leave; board votes not to renew contract
Yellow Springs schools Treasurer Dawn Bennett was placed on paid administrative leave, and her contract, which expires July 31, was not renewed in votes taken by the Yellow Springs school board after an executive session at the end of the regular board meeting Thursday, May 9.

McCoy hired as assistant principal
The Yellow Springs school board on Thursday, May 9, unanimously approved the hiring of Cameron McCoy as assistant principal and project-based learning foundations teacher at Yellow Springs High School/McKinney Middle School. McCoy has served in the position on an interim capacity since March 2018.

Greene County— Jail options considered
When villager Don Hollister toured the Greene County Jail in downtown Xenia as part of a citizen group a year ago November, he was shocked by how stark it was. “My clearest impression looking at the barred cells was that it seemed out of a movie,” he said. “It fit every stereotype I had of an urban jail.”
