McCoy hired as assistant principal

The Yellow Springs school board on Thursday, May 9, unanimously approved the hiring of Cameron McCoy assistant principal and project-based learning foundations teacher at Yellow Springs High School/McKinney Middle School. McCoy has served in the position on an interim capacity since March 2018.
In a statement, YSHS/McKinney School Principal Jack Hatert said, “Throughout the interview process Cameron demonstrated the knowledge, experience, and skill set needed to most effectively fill the position. As an educator, he is dedicated to his students and to the values of Yellow Springs Schools and will provide exceptional leadership for McKinney Middle School and Yellow Springs High School.”
McCoy previously taught social studies at McKinney Middle School from 2012 to 2018. Prior to joining YS Schools, he taught in Columbus City Schools and at a charter school.
The Yellow Springs School Board is currently in the process of selecting a superintendent for the district. Candidates will visit the village on Saturday, May 11. The event begins at 10 a.m. in the music room of Mills Lawn School. Read more about the candidates here.
