It is with deep sorrow that the Blackman family announces the transition of beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, David Edward “Ed” “Sonny” Blackman.

Darrell D. Dawson, son of the late J. Dudley and Leona Dawson, of Yellow Springs, died on July 2, 2018, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He was 78.

Friends Care Community is currently implementing a new program to aid residents with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia — by helping them express themselves through art.

Faeries and asses, music and magic, enchantment and engagement all come together this weekend as the Yellow Springs Theater Company mounts the final performances of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”

Beginning next week, Megan Bachman will be the new editor of the local paper. Bachman is taking the place of Diane Chiddister, 68, the editor for the last 12 years.

Barbara Broemmelsiek Carroll passed away at Friends Care Community Assisted Living, in Yellow Springs, Ohio, on July 1, 2018. She was 97.
