The YSHS football team lost 51–6 to Toronto High School on Friday, Sept. 18.
Bulldog Roland Newsome brought down Toronto’s kickoff at their 30-yard line, but the visitors scored in the first three minutes of the game. That was followed by four touch downs in the first quarter.

The Lady Bulldog soccer team lost 6–1 to a Sidney Lehman powerhouse on Saturday, Sept. 5, in which Anna Karling Khan scored the team’s only goal, unassisted. The Yellow Springs team then lost 3–0 to Dayton Christian on Tuesday, Sept. 8, when keeper Katie Triplett held back the Warriors with dozens of saves and Lucy Callahan had a near-miss on a goal.

Volleyball to start
The seventh- and eighth-grade Yellow Springs girls volleyball teams will continue July practice sessions on Monday through Wednesday the week of July 13–15. Practices run from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and take place at the Yellow Springs High School/McKinney School gym.

Yellow Springs High School and McKinney School athletes were recognized by the school on Wednesday, Nov. 5, for their participation and performance in the fall sports program.

The YSHS boys soccer team clinched its third straight Metro Buckeye Conference championship last Saturday, Oct. 4, with a 4–0 win over league rival Xenia Christian. With only one MBC contest remaining for Yellow Springs, there are just two possible outcomes for the 2008 league crown.

Last Saturday, Sept. 27, the YSHS boys soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to seven games with a 7–0 victory over the Newton Indians. The Bulldogs are now 5–0–2 in their last seven games, 7–3–3 overall.
