YS-Opoly to host pre-launch party

A YS-Opoly pre-launch party for the new customized game about the Village of Yellow Springs will take place on Sunday, June 2, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Antioch University Midwest. Attendees are encouraged to “Be The Board” by dressing up as their favorite aspect of the game. There will be food and festivities with an array of VIP guests including Young’s Jersey Cow Barnabe, the YS Schools Bulldog and several local musicians including Will C, Ryan Stinson and Warren Kearney (a.k.a. That Uke Guy). YS-Opoly games will be set up in the YSI multipurpose room to play.

Yellow Springs Brewery will then host an after party from 4 to 6 p.m. at their Millworks tap room, 305 N. Walnut St. with music by local buskers and Ringo’s North Star Mobile Eatery serving up stonehearth pizza, gourmet burgers and quesadillas. The brewery will give discounts on its local craft brews to those wearing YS-Opoly buttons. Buttons can be picked up a the Chamber office at the Yellow Springs Train Station. T-shirts screen printed for the game will also be available.

Through a collaborative creative community effort involving over 200 business, organizations, family and individual sponsors, Yellow Springs has created a customized Monopoly-themed game representing the true flavor of our cultural oasis, promoting the many wonderful aspects that make YS “Everyone’s Favorite Place.” YS-Opoly maintains the classic feel of the original Monopoly game while embodying the unique character of our village.

There are a limited number of first edition YS-Opoly games available (retail price $25). Reserve a copy by contacting Brian Housh at ysopoly@gmail.com or 937-319-1116, or order games online at http://www.YellowSpringsOpoly.com or send your payment to “YS-Opoly” at PO Box 735, Yellow Springs, OH 45387.
