Emily Thawley Anderson

Emily Thawley Anderson passed away on Saturday, July 25, at Friends Care Community Center. She was born on May 6, 1923, in Washington D.C., and grew up in Princess Anne, Md. She came to Yellow Springs in April of 2008, following a serious accident which prevented her from continuing to live in her home in Hebron, Md., on the eastern shore. In the years before her accident, Emily was a long-term member of Sweet Adeline Choruses, ran her own tailoring business and sang in her church choir. While at FCC, she enjoyed reading, most of the group activities and all of the music events.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Phoebe Emily and Milton Henry Thawley, and her husband, Robert Grey Anderson. She is survived by her three children, Shirley Jean Kamar of Haysville, N.C., Robin Leigh Anderson of Austin, Texas and David L. Anderson of Yellow Springs.

She will be interred at Quindocque Church in Marion Station, Md.
