McKinney Middle School and YS High School have instituted a “Student of the Month” program, each month acknowledging one student from each grade who has shown exemplary work as a student, classmate and citizen of the school. The schools have selected the following six students who best modeled these efforts in the month of September, pictured above from left.

The annual Apple Festival will return this year on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 11 and 12, in front of First Presbyterian Church.

A public forum of Yellow Springs and Miami Township candidates running for local office in the Nov. 5 general election will be held Thursday, Oct. 24, at Mills Lawn School.

Yellow Springs High School premiered  “The Bigfoot Diaries” last week. It addressed differences, acceptance, family and prejudice through the vehicle of dark comedy.
