A special quilt in honor of Faith Patterson was unveiled at the Yellow Springs library on Feb. 22.

Former resident Joretta Hamilton-Cox, of Monroe, N.C., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2017, after battling serious health issues the past few years.

Ronald E. Siemer was born on April 24, 1934, and died on Feb. 24, 2017.

Andre James Miner, 24, of Dayton, Ohio, formerly of Yellow Springs, Ohio, on Feb. 18, 2017, spread his wings to embrace the Lord.

A community conversation regarding the property formerly known as the “CBE” will be held Thursday, March 2.

On Saturday, March 4, Antioch College professor Charles Fairbanks will present “Black Girl (La Noire de…),” the 1966 French-language film by director Ousmane Sembéne, at 1 p.m. at the Little Art Theatre.

The preponderance of ruins and tangled underbrush creates a sense of the forlorn in the way that only crumbled human structures can. There are remains of an amphitheater, some walkways and bits of a dam, all of which speak for something that once was but now is not.
