Annual Apple Cutting Bee slated
- Published: October 1, 2018
First Presbyterian Church will hold its annual Apple Cutting Bee on Friday, Oct. 12, ahead of the annual Apple Fest, to be held the next day during Street Fair. Volunteers are requested at the Apple Cutting Bee to help cut up six bushels of apples from Peifer Orchards and bake homemade apple crisp for this year’s fest.
Volunteers will gather at 9 a.m. and work until the task is done, and will enjoy lunch afterward. Community service hours may be earned by students. To sign up to volunteer, call 767-7751.
The Apple Fest will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13. Homemade apple crisp with ice cream from Young’s Dairy and apple cider from Peifer Orchards will be sold. All proceeds from sales will benefit the church. The Apple Fest will continue until the tasty wares run out.
