  • FMC winter concert coming soon

    Friends Music Camp presents its annual fundraising winter concert at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 28 at the Foundry Theater.

  • ‘Marcellus Shale’ play coming to Antioch College

    During Antioch College’s winter quarter in 2016, the performance program will be host to “Marcellus Shale,” a play written by Talking Band members Paul Zimet and Ellen Maddow.

  • Hotaling shows birds at the brewery

    “Birding is Hard,” an exhibit of bird paintings by Travis Tarbox Hotaling, will be on exhibit at the Yellow Springs Brewery from Nov. 25 to Dec. 20. A reception for Hotaling will take place this Saturday, Nov. 28, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the brewery.

  • Reception for new potter on Friday

    A reception for Nicki Strouss will take place Friday, Nov. 20, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the pot shop at John Bryan Community Pottery.

  • Final frame for Would you, Could you gallery

    “Would you could you” In A Frame gallery will close at the end of December, after its current show of local artist Lance Rudegeair’s portraits of endangered animals.

  • Unlocking the muse for art

    Three artists were locked in the Yellow Springs Arts Council Gallery for three days this week. A reception for their creation will take place this Friday, Nov. 13, from 6 to 9 at the gallery.

  • Upcycled bicycles

    Strong and highly suggestive form follows obvious function in this sculptural play on rails and home-bound trails.

  • The Falling Rain Blues

    Despite a smaller crowd and rainy skies, the AACW Blues, Jazz, and Gospel Fest went ahead this past weekend. There were workshops during the day and performances and food throughout the evening. The rain and cold cut the numbers of attendees down but some fans stuck it out for what proved to be solid musical performances and a continuation of an important tradition in Yellow Springs.
