Summer music to celebrate 50 years

The YS Summer Strings and Band program will hold a 50th anniversary celebration concert on Saturday, July 5, at Mills Lawn. The event will feature camp alumni from the Yellow Springs Summer Strings and Band Camp in a cello orchestra concert, followed by a full orchestra concert, including possibly the largest ever ensemble to play “Cherokee Chief.” Camp alumni from any year are invited to dust off cellos, clarinets, trumpets, etc. and make plans to join in performance, or simply be there for the 50th anniversary alumni photo. The cello orchestra will perform at 5 p.m., followed immediately by the full orchestra. The evening will be punctuated with the grande finale cake, punch and fellowship.
