    About 20 officers from various jurisdictions combed through Glen Helen and John Bryan Park today in a search for a man alleged to be carrying a gun. However, the search was called off late this afternoon, and the man is believed to have left the area.

    BouChic, the new alterations and dressmaking business in Yellow Springs, sits at the very back of the white professional building on Xenia Avenue. Inside, owner Zara McCartney has neatly stacked bolts of cloth, drawers filled with a variety of patterns, a dressing room, sewing machines and a chalkboard wall for children.

    Evelyn M. Powers of Springfield died June 17 in Vancrest Health Care Center, Urbana. She was 85.
