Yellow Springs art and health event takes donations for domestic violence shelters

The Culpeper House will host an open house and artist reception on Friday, Oct. 18, 6–8 p.m.
At this art and health event, medical herbalist and iridologist, Eric Rodriguez, will be on hand to discuss holistic approaches to health, herbal medicine and iridology. Mixed media artist Cheyanne Seals will be on hand to discuss her artwork on display, and additional works by nature photographer Scott Stolsenberg and fabric artist Marianne Britton will also be on display. Pamela Funderberg, licensed massage therapist from the Wellness Center, will discuss the many benefits of bodywork for overall health and wellness. A wine tasting and light refreshments will be served.
At the event, The Culpeper House will offer a $10 gift certificate to every guest that arrives with a new personal care item, or items, for donation to area domestic violence shelters in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Donated items will go to assist individuals and families seeking shelter and services from violent and/or abusive situations in Clark, Champaign, Logan and Greene counties.
The following items are needed:
toothbrushes
toothpaste
hairbrushes
shampoo
shower gel
disposable razors
baby wipes
diapers
baby shampoo
diaper ointment
All items must be new, unopened, in their original packaging. Travel sized items are acceptable. For those who can’t attend the event, donations will be accepted through the month of October.
The Culpeper House is located at 716 Xenia Avenue in Yellow Springs.
