Music of the Trees, for the trees

A fundraiser event, Honoring the Glen Helen Concert, to benefit the Glen Helen Association will be held Saturday, June 27, at Antioch University Midwest.

The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with a nature art show by featured artist Roger Smith, and a flower crown making activity for youth with artist Leah Gromman.

The concert begins at 7 p.m. and features original songs by The Trees, including band members Amy “Blue,” Scott Lindberg, Matt Minde, and guest percussionist Ryan Stinson.

“This may sound a bit fanciful, but we believe Helen Birch Bartlett is speaking to us through nature, inspiring us to use the medium of music and lyric to remind people that we honor the Glen Helen and the trees and join together to help preserve that which was so lovingly given,” Lindberg wrote in an email this week.

General admission is $5 in advance, or $7 at the door. For ticket information, contact Blue or Lindberg at 776-4790.
