Prairie tale

It’s high summer, and the restored prairie at Glass Farm is in full, glorious bloom.
Spotted one sunny afternoon last week were Queen Anne’s lace, native sunflowers and a variety of native grasses, pictured here, as well as coneflowers, milkweed, butterfly weed and other native plants scattered throughout the preserve.
Dragonflies were especially abundant, and a few monarch butterflies flitted and floated, dazzling orange against summer blue.
