Watering hole

Village street crew members Dustin Harris and Austin Pence (partially obscured) repaired a broken water line under Dayton Street near Kenneth Hamilton Way on Monday, July 26. The line was leaking an estimated 115,000 gallons per day, out of the 400,000 gallons of drinking water that the Village water plant produces daily. At that rate, the Village was losing an amount of water to fill one of its water towers every eight days. Village officials discovered the break after hiring Aqua-Line Detection to look for leaks on valves and hydrants. The road was closed for the day while the line was fixed.
