The Village of Yellow Springs and YS Schools this week joined a host of other local governance bodies across the state in sounding the alarm about the effects of the recently introduced House Bill 335 and the soon-to-be-passed state budget, and asking residents to make their voices heard to state legislators before June 24 in response.

Planning Commission recommends Council’s approval for Windsor apartments
The group voted unanimously to recommended Village Council approves Windsor’s plans to build a 96-unit apartment complex at the site of the Antioch College Student Union, as well as a 43-unit, senior-based apartment complex in the Charles F. Kettering building.

Second annual documentary award honors Julia Reichert
To honor Reichert’s legacy, the Yellow Springs Film Festival and PNC Bank in 2024 created the Julia Reichert Award, a $3,000 short film prize to be given to an emerging female documentarian.

BREAKING— Wamsley successfully swims English Channel
To cheers and a blaring horn from her support team and boat crew, local resident Amy Wamsley stepped onto the shore near Calais, France Friday, June 13, having successfully swum the 21-mile stretch of the English Channel in 16 hours and 56 minutes.
