Jill Chapman passed away on Aug. 7, 2020, at Friends Care Community. She was 79 and had been coping with cancer for some time.

William Brian Maughan, sculptor and Yellow Springs resident for his last 14 years, passed away peacefully at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton on Aug. 6, 2020, with his wife, Marie, and two sons, Brook and Anthony, by his side.

Annemone Ingrid Keller passed away suddenly on July 20, 2020, while gardening at her home in Yellow Springs.

Ruth Elizabeth Farmer Bent died on July 31, 2020, while sleeping peacefully in her favorite chair, in the home she and Tony built in 1960. She was 94 years old.

In the Yellow Springs Youth Baseball Minor League, on Wednesday, July 22, the Trail Tavern Dodgers completed their playoff run with an 8–6 victory over the top seed, the Posterior Chain Reds.

Community Blood Center will hold a mobile blood drive on Thursday, Aug. 6, noon–6 p.m., at Mills Lawn. Donors must bring a photo ID and wear a mask. Physical distancing will be practiced.
