According to the Yellow Springs Police Department, at 7:49 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8, a caller told police that a man pulled a gun and aimed it at a small dog at the Mills Lawn Elementary School playground.

Helen (Pitman) Hammond passed peacefully at Friends Care Community in Yellow Springs on Sept. 3, 2019, just after turning 92 years old.

Hazel Tulecke died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019, at Friends Care in Yellow Springs. She was 95.

On Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2, the Gaunt Park pool hosted its annual end-of-season Doggie Swim.
