At his booth at the June Street Fair, Michel Zurbuchen sets out two benches with a stone at each, plus tools and safety glasses, and encourages all who are interested to try carving for themselves. People who had never considered taking a hammer and chisel to rock find they don’t want to stop.

Villager Earl "Petey" Hull died July 1, 2024; he was 83. Visitaiton will be held Friday, July 19, 10 a.m., with services at 11 a.m., at Central Chapel, AME, 411 S. High St. Interment will be in the Hull Family plot at Tar Box Cemetery in Wilberforce. A full obituary will appear in an upcoming issue of the News.
