  • Boys fall soccer meeting to be held

    The annual players’ and parents’ preseason meeting for the Yellow Springs High School boys soccer team will be held Friday, July 3, at the high school at 7 p.m. Any student-athlete interested in playing for the YSHS boys’ soccer team this fall should attend this meeting with his parents.

  • Summer open gym for girls basketball players

    The McKinney Middle School and Yellow Springs High School girls basketball program is offering open gym sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The sessions began Tuesday, June 23, and are open to any middle and high school girls interested in playing basketball.

  • Free adult soccer mini-camp offered

    Challenger Soccer British Soccer Coaches will teach a Mini Adult Soccer Camp, Saturday, June 27, 9:30–11 a.m., behind the Yellow Springs High School, on the practice soccer field. Parents/guardians can learn how to help their children improve their soccer skills.

  • New soccer coach

    Yellow Springs High School athletes who are interested in playing on the girls soccer team are asked to contact this year’s head coach, Angelo Caliguiri, for information about practices, scrimmages and parent meetings.

  • Yellow Springs Youth Baseball

    A powerful Twins team remained undefeated in the Major League after scoring their first win over the Royals, 7–3, on Wednesday, June 17. The Twins’ Jared Scarfpin led the way by going two-for-two, including a home run, one other run and three RBIs. Scarfpin, Aakeem Truss and Liam Weigand all scored on a bases-loaded triple by Grant Reigelsperger in the first inning.

  • Street Fair 3on3 basketball results

    The Street Fair Shootout 3on3 basketball tournament featured round-robin play within divisions followed by mix-division, double-elimination bracket play.

  • Yellow Springs Youth Baseball

    The Twins pushed their record to a perfect 3–0 to remain in first place in the Major League last week. The Royals also came on strong with a pair of wins over the Cardinals. The Royals claimed their first win for the season on Wednesday, June 8, with an 11-hit, 16–2 victory over the Cardinals.

  • GunderKline 10th at state

    As the lone Yellow Springs High School representative to run at the state track meet in Columbus on Saturday, June 6, Brock GunderKline finished 10th in the 800-meter run in 1:59.4. That time was a tad slower than the personal record of 1:58.95 he set at the regional meet the previous weekend, but GunderKline beat David Curtin, the Cincinnati Hills runner who finished ahead of him at regionals, and earned a laudable spot in his event as the tenth fastest Div. III runner in Ohio.
