Fall Street Fair: festing in the fall

This fall the Yellow Springs Street Fair will be held downtown on Saturday, Oct. 11, 9 a.m.–5 p.m., with the Music Festival and Beer Garden, at the Bryan Community Center, running from noon to 7 p.m.

Over 250 booths will sell fine arts and crafts, clothing, jewelry, fair trade items, unique gifts, and massages, as well as foods like Thai wraps, Mexican empanadas, Cajun specialties, curry, hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, funnel cakes and more. Other attractions will include strolling musicians, interactive booths with games and surprise street entertainment.

The Beer Garden will feature eight selections of microbrews from Peachs Grill, and the Music Festival will feature live performances by the following bands:

Noon–1 p.m., Rob Heiliger
1–2 p.m., Ryan Judy
2–3 p.m., Aquarium House
3–4 p.m., Crazy Joe
4–5 p.m., Jayne Sachs
5–6 p.m., Reggie Stone
6–7 p.m., Bumpus

The Jackson Lytle Stage at the south end of Street Fair will feature performances throughout the day in a shaded setting. Local favorites, including the Egyptian Breeze Belly Dancers, will perform.

The event is free, open to the public and handicapped accessible. Handicapped parking is available at the municipal lot on Corry Street, and the PTO of Mills Lawn School will collect a fee for parking space on the school grounds. Do not bring pets to Street Fair as the crowded conditions make it unsafe and uncomfortable. Street Fair is sponsored by the Yellow Springs Chamber of Commerce with support from the WesBanco Yellow Springs Banking Center.
