Antone DaCosta

Antone “Tony” Lavon DaCosta died on Thursday, April 1. He was 58. 

Antone was born December 11, 1952, to Cecil G. DaCosta and Velma B. DaCosta (née Anderson) at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital in Hamilton, Bermuda. He was educated in Bermuda at Central School, Berkeley Institute and Warwick Academy, and in the U.S. at Yellow Springs High School, Xenia High School and Central State University, graduating with a bachelor of arts degree in 1993.

Tony had been married to Linda (Samuels) DaCosta Bynum. Following his divorce, he was engaged in a long-term relationship with his significant other, Marcia Robinson, who was with him until his death.

Tony is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Chester and Barbara DaCosta of Indianapolis, Ind., and his sister, Elizabeth R. DaCosta Kauffman of Richmond, Va.; his daughters, Nicole Lavon DaCosta Wilson of Xenia and Dr. Kneia DaCosta of Collegeville, Pa.; three grandchildren; his significant other, Marcia Robinson; and many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service was held at Glen Helen House on Wednesday, April 7.
