Taking the knee, together

At least 65 local protesters “took the knee” for racial justice last Saturday at the corner of Limestone Street and Xenia Avenue, dubbed “protest corner” for the weekly peace demonstration held there. Organized by Bomani Moyenda, Saturday’s action called attention to police brutality that disproportionately affects black men and women. Protesters sang the national anthem while kneeling on one knee, a gesture of solidarity with NFL players who have done the same during the anthem.
