MLK Jr. day in Yellow Springs

In observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday this Monday, Jan. 17, village offices, schools and the News will be closed. Subscribers to the News will receive their paper a day later in the mail.
Antioch College and the AACW are organizing this year’s march and commemorative events. The schedule is as follows:
• 10 a.m. at the Coretta Scott King Center for live music and hot chocolate
• 10:15 a.m. Move to Mills Lawn Elementary
• 10:30 a.m. March through downtown Yellow Springs ending at Central Chapel A.M.E. Church, 411 South High Street
• 11 a.m. Keynote address by Prexy Nesbitt, civil rights activist and a member of the Antioch College Board Pro Tempore
• 12 p.m. Soup and Fellowship following at CCAME with breads donated by the Winds Cafe and Current Cuisine
