Zombies to swarm downtown
- Published: October 18, 2012
Zombies will once again rise and gather in the seemingly quiet streets of downtown Yellow Springs on Saturday, Oct. 20, for the fourth annual Yellow Springs Zombie Walk.
Zombies of all ages will gather for a variety of family-fun activities and a free street concert, all to raise money and food for Home, Inc. and local food pantries. A suggested donation of $5 and two non-perishable food items per family can be made at Zombie Headquarters.
Beginning at 5 p.m., craft and food vendors, face painting and games for kids will be located at 100 Corry Street and the Yellow Springs Arts Council patio. Local zombie enthusiasts will even help with makeup for a suggested donation of $5. The Zombie Walk itself will take place downtown at approximately 8 p.m.
Raffle tickets will be available at the event, or may be bought in advance at the Import House or by contacting zombiewalk.yellow@yahoo.com. Local bands DJ 501, By Means of Words, Doctor Meat, Love or Drugs, Grey Market and 767 will play downtown from 5 to 10 p.m.
